Online Summits Troubleshooting

1. Click on the Apple symbol in the upper left corner.

2. Click on “System Preferences.”

3. Click on “Sharing” in the middle row.

4. Check the box next to “Screen Sharing” in the column on the right.

5. Your computer will now be identifiable by other users on your network in their Finder.

6. On the other computer, open Finder. Your computer’s name  should show up in the sidebar — in this example it shows up as “Ryan’s MacBook Pro”.

If you still have any trouble to share your screen, please try the following steps to enable screen-sharing on MacOS Chrome:

  1. Navigate to macOS system preferences: Apple Icon on the top left corner → System Preferences

2. Select “Security and Privacy” from the available options

3. Select the “Privacy tab” and in the left bar list, scroll down to the “Screen Recording” menu. If the « Screen Recording » menu  does not appear, select the « Accessibility » menu.

4. If the applications checkboxes are locked for editing you will need to unlock those options by clicking the lock icon on the bottom left

5. After entering the correct username and password, check the Google Chrome checkbox.

6. Select “Quit now”.

7. Start Chrome again, access the web session, and select share screen.

My Wabel meetings is compatible with the following browsers:

Make sure Jitsi servers are not blocked on your computer
  • Try to access meet.jit.si
  • If it works, your connection to Jitsi should be working well
  • If not, contact our helpdesk

If you have colleagues who should join you only for a specific meeting and should not have access to the meeting platform, proceed as follows

Join the meeting from the meeting page

Click on the Invite more people of the Video Meeting window

Share the link of your meeting to your colleague. They just need to click on the link

Click on Share Screen

Choose what you want to share before clicking on Share

  1. A specific screen if you have several (Recommended for beginners)
  2. A specific application window
  3. A specific tab

A white bar will indicate that the screen sharing is working at the bottom of your screen

To stop screen sharing, click on the same icon as you did before OR on “Stop sharing”.

Make sure your browser is up to date
Make sure you followed the correct procedure to activate your camera

Click on the video icon

Click on Allow to allow the website to use the camera

Make sure you have not accidentally blocked your camera

When activating your camera, if you see one of those messages

See if there is a camera icon in your address bar and click on it

Make sure the option to allow the camera is selected and click on Done

Make sure the right camera is selected

See if there is a camera icon in your address bar and click on it

If you have several cameras, make sure the right camera is selected

Make sure your camera is not manually obstructed

Some computers have a built-in lock to physically block the camera. Make sure that your camera is not obstructed

Make sure your browser is up to date
Make sure you followed the correct procedure to activate your microphone

Click on Join Audio

Click on Join Audio by Computer

Click on Allow

Make sure you have not accidentally blocked your microphone

If you see a red exclamation mark on your Audio icon

See if there is a camera icon in your address bar and click on it

Make sure the option to allow the website to access the microphone is well ticked and click done

Make sure the right microphone is selected

If you have several microphones, make sure the right microphone is selected
