Amrest
Founded in 1993 by Henry McGovern and Donald Kendall Jr, Amrest is a foodservice company which operates fast food restaurants and coffee shops globally. Its headquarters is based in Madrid, Spain. The company runs mostly franchises but also has its own brands of restaurants. Moreover, Amrest has operations in countries such as Spain, Poland, France, Germany, Russia, Romania and many more.
As of 2022, the foodservice operates 2,434 stores under 9 brands across 25 countries. Its brands include KFC, Starbucks, Pizza Hut, Burger King, La Tagliatella, Sushi Shop, etc. It is noteworthy that Amrest welcomes more than 300 million customers annually.
In the financial year 2021, Amrest achieved a turnover of €1.9 billion reporting an increase by 25.9% as compared to the previous year. Currently, the firm employs more than 48,000 people, among which 44% are men and 56% women.
The business won the Gold Stevie Award in the 16th Annual International Business Awards in 2019.
Amrest offers a variety of products in the following categories:

- Drinks: soft drinks, water, juice, etc.
Pertaining to its logistics solutions, in 2021, the foodservice operator partnered with LogiNext, a global technology known for B2B Logistics and home delivery in order to digitise delivery options and ensure fast delivery.
Moreover, in August 2020, Amrest joined forces with Just Eat Takeway.com in order to reach the maximum consumers across Europe.
Burger King terminated its contract with Amrest in February, 2022 which means no more Burger King restaurants would be opened in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria.
In March 2022, the company ceased its operations in Russia due to the invasion of Ukraine. In the same year, Amrest decided to shift its focus to its most popular brands and lowered its bet on Bacoa and Sushi Shop.
With regards to sustainability, the enterprise protects the environment by making use of sustainable packaging and participating in the Too Good To Go program to reduce food waste.
The company has announced that it will continue its expansion by opening more restaurants in 2022.
