Established in 1924 by David Smith, Associated Wholesale Grocers is one of the largest cooperative food wholesalers in the United States. Its headquarters is based in Kansas City, United States. Presently, the company serves 3,800 stores in 36 states.

Pertaining to its logistics solutions, the company operates 11 distribution centres with a total area of 7 million square feet. Moreover, a fleet of trucks is available to ensure deliveries. 

Moreover, in 2020, Associated Wholesale Grocers partnered with Witron, a provider of dynamic food warehouse automation and order picking systems. As a result, it will improve accuracy and reduce loss due to damaged goods. 

Furthermore, the company has invested in a new fresh and frozen warehouse which is going to be inaugurated in October 2022.
