Established in 1981, Auchan is a french retail company headquartered in Madrid, Spain.

The business operates 305 stores: 63 hypermarkets and 242 supermarkets, 124 of which are franchised as well as an online platform. 

It has a dedicated team of 19,600 employees. 

The supermarket chain provides various products under different categories such as:

• Savory grocery: pasta, bread, rice, etc. 
• Sweet grocery: waffles, chocolate, cookies, etc.
• Frozen: seafood, pizza, ice cream, etc.
• Fresh and chilled: meat, fish, vegetables, etc.
• Dairy: milk, cheese, butter, etc.
• Drinks: soft drinks, juice, water, etc.
• Household: detergents, kitchen rolls, toilet paper, etc. 
• Personal care: face masks, shampoo, toothbrush etc.  
• Wine and spirits: champagne, beer, wine, etc.

Auchan Spain also offers products under its own private labels:

• Alcampo: a range of grocery products including sauces, olive oil, salt, spices, etc. 
• Cosmia: a brand of cosmetics.
• Qilive: a range of technological products. 
• Baby: a range of baby care products such as baby wipes, baby powder, baby shampoo, etc. 

In 2022, Alcampo, a Spanish subsidiary of Auchan Retail, today signed an agreement with DIA Group to acquire 235 supermarkets and a warehouse in the regions of Madrid, Aragon, Asturias, Castilla and León, Galicia, Cantabria, Navarre and the Basque Country.
