Columbus Café
Inspired by explorer Christopher Columbus, the Columbus Café & Co is a French Espresso bar chain created in 1994 by Philippe Bloch and Ralph Hababou. This concept has been brought up to make the Espresso bar a comfy place of retreat where consumers will be able to enjoy quality time around a coffee and bakeries from Italian, French, and American influences.
The coffee chain specialises in hot & cold drinks (coffee, chocolate, tea, fruit juice), sandwiches (various options), wraps, bagels and American bakeries such as donuts, cookies, brownies and cheesecakes. Its flagship product is its muffin, made in 30 different tastes, which are sold in all of its Espresso bar. Consumers have the option to personalise their drinks, while opting from 4 different sizes of cups. The gourmet hot drinks (including the muffin) are made by the experienced barista and are also offered as ‘takeaway’.
To be noted that Columbus Café capsules are available in two ranges: espresso and gourmet at the supermarkets and the Columbus Café point of sales. The company’s network of franchise has grown fast with the development of 30 new stores opening each year across the world (Morocco, Qatar, Belgium , Kuwait , Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Abu Dhabi).
