Dean and David

Dean and David was established in Munich, Germany in 2007 by David Baumgartner. It started its production factory behind Munich University and since then, the company has paved its way to sustainable nutrition as well as focusing more on vegetarianism and veganism. Its approach is to go towards a fast and simple way to eat healthy, without flavor enhancers, preservatives and colors. 

Dean and David has opened its restaurants in various places around Germany as well as in Doha, Qatar. In 2021, its first store was opened in Lyon, France and also provides catering services. The company specializes in food service and has expanded its business to delivery service across various countries in Europe such as Austria, Switzerland and Luxembourg. However, it also operates an online shop which enables customers to have a better insight of the products it offers. 

The Dean and David franchise company with limited liability can access the whole network within the group of companies as one of the biggest German quick service gastronomy chains. With more than 90 stores in Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Qatar and Austria, Dean and David is the leading market in the healthy fast casual segment. The products of the company consist of different mixed salads, bowls, sandwiches, sweets, juices, smoothies, coffee, tea, a kids menu and many more. 

In 2016, Dean and David received for the second time an A rating from the prestigious Treugast-Ranking as an outstandingly secure investment and was the only German company under 10 years to receive this kind of rating. Last but not least, Dean and David were awarded Hamburg’s Food Service Award in 2017. 

With regards to sustainability, its food is served in a reusable box and their plastic bags are produced in a water and energy-saving manner.
