DNA Paradis Group
DNA Paradis Group is a French restaurant group specialising in themed casual dining concepts, headquartered in Paris. The group acts as both creator and operator of restaurant brands, combining concept design, interior architecture, culinary development and day-to-day operations. It sources a broad range of food and beverage products for its own restaurants and for franchised outlets under its brands.
The group traces its operational roots to 1982, when founder Claude Louzon opened the first Le Paradis du Fruit restaurant in Paris. Over more than four decades, DNA Paradis Group has developed a portfolio of complementary restaurant concepts built around strong brand identities and distinctive culinary positioning. Its current brand portfolio includes:
- Le Paradis du Fruit – a concept focused on fresh, fruit-based and plant-forward dishes, salads, juices, desserts and "healthy" casual dining, requiring significant purchasing of fresh fruit and vegetables, chilled and frozen ingredients, juices, dairy, bakery and dessert products.
- Miss Kô – a design-led fusion restaurant combining Asian influences with contemporary gastronomy, driving demand for premium proteins, sauces, spices, Asian grocery specialties, beverages and confectionery for dessert menus.
- Hanoï Cà Phê – a Vietnamese street-food inspired concept (“cang-tine street food vietnamienne”) which relies on sourcing rice, noodles, Asian vegetables, herbs, meat, seafood, sauces and condiments as well as soft drinks, beers and hot beverages.
- James Bun – another Vietnamese-inspired casual concept, also dependent on a wide range of ambient, chilled and frozen Asian food products, fresh produce and beverages.
Beyond pure culinary activity, DNA Paradis Group positions itself as an incubator, developer and franchisor of restaurant concepts. It designs new brands in-house, tests and operates them in company-owned outlets, then rolls out selected concepts through franchising and partnerships. For its most established brands, it grants franchise rights or master franchise agreements to strategic partners, while retaining ownership of the concepts and brand IP. This model translates into centralised procurement, product and menu specifications, and negotiated purchasing agreements for core food and beverage categories across the network.
The group operates exclusively in food service. It does not run retail supermarkets or wholesale cash-and-carry stores; instead, its outlets are sit-down restaurants located in high-traffic urban areas and commercial zones. According to its own figures, DNA Paradis Group and entities controlled by its founder currently oversee around 76 restaurants in France, combining company-operated units and franchised locations. These restaurants are concentrated in Paris and the wider Île-de-France region, with additional sites in other French cities and provinces.
From a sourcing perspective, DNA Paradis Group is a sizeable HORECA buyer. An interview in 2021 indicated that the group then generated around €70 million in turnover with 38 restaurants and roughly 692 employees, and the network has since expanded. As a result, the group’s annual revenue is understood to be in the €50–100 million range, with a workforce that likely exceeds several hundred employees across both owned and franchised operations. Procurement spans fresh produce, meat and poultry, seafood, dairy, dry grocery, frozen foods, beverages (including soft drinks, juices, hot beverages and alcoholic drinks where permitted), bakery and pastry, ice cream and desserts, as well as certain non-food items such as tableware and disposables.
At the corporate level, DNA Paradis Group is organised as a simplified joint stock company (SAS) that functions as a holding and head office for the restaurant brands. The legal entity was incorporated in 2019 and is classified in France under the holding activities code (64.20Z), with a relatively small head-office staff compared with the wider operational workforce. The group is privately owned and independent, with no external parent company.
Overall, DNA Paradis Group is a prominent French player in themed casual dining, combining concept creation, restaurant operation and franchising. For suppliers, it represents a concentrated buyer of food and beverage products for a multi-brand network of several dozen outlets across France, particularly in the segments of fresh and frozen food, fruit-based products, Asian grocery, beverages and desserts targeted at urban, lifestyle-oriented consumers.
