Founded more than 30 years ago, Ecotone is a pioneer of organic and vegetarian food products in Europe. Its headquarters is based in Lyon, France. The company has its subsidiaries across 6 European countries.
Ecotone is an independent company, whose triple shareholding guarantees the project:
- Investment fund: PAI partners (historical and independent French fund, CSR pioneer)
- Family: Charles Jobson (individual shareholder committed to organic farming issues)
- Managerial: About a hundred employees own shares in the company.
In the financial year 2021, Ecotone achieved a turnover of €725 million and employed 1,600 people.
It is noteworthy that the firm received the “Great Place To Work” certificate in 2022.
Moreover, Ecotone provides a variety of products in the following categories:
- Sweet grocery: biscuits, cereal bars, teas, etc.
- Savoury grocery: biscuits, spreads, snacks, etc.

The company maintains the highest quality standards as it was the first European company to obtain the B-Corp Certification in 2019.
Ecotone currently operates 9 production facilities across the world.
In May 2022, Ecotone announced that it will be investing 20 million euros in its plant-based beverage production site in Italy.
