Ecotone

Founded more than 30 years ago, Ecotone is a pioneer of organic and vegetarian food products in Europe. Its headquarters is based in Lyon, France. The company has its subsidiaries across 6 European countries.  

Ecotone is an independent company, whose triple shareholding guarantees the project:

• Investment fund: PAI partners (historical and independent French fund, CSR pioneer)
• Family: Charles Jobson (individual shareholder committed to organic farming issues)
• Managerial: About a hundred employees own shares in the company.

In the financial year 2021, Ecotone achieved a turnover of €725 million and employed 1,600 people. 

It is noteworthy that the firm received the “Great Place To Work” certificate in 2022. 

Moreover, Ecotone provides a variety of products in the following categories: 

• Sweet grocery: biscuits, cereal bars, teas, etc. 
• Savoury grocery: biscuits, spreads, snacks, etc. 
• Chilled & Fresh: ready meals and breads. 
• Drinks: vegetable and fruit drinks. 

In addition to organic and vegetarian food products, the firm also offers a range of gluten-free products. 

Ecotone developed its own brands known as (non-exhaustive list):

• Bjorg: A brand of dairy-free drinks, cereals, biscuits, etc. 
• Allos: This brand includes products such as fruit spreads and cereals. 
• Clipper: A line of organic tea. 
• Bonneterre: This brand includes spreads, biscuits, snacks, etc. 
• Isola Bio: A dairy alternative brand. 
• Destination: A brand dedicated to coffee beans and tea leaves. 

The company maintains the highest quality standards as it was the first European company to obtain the B-Corp Certification in 2019. 

Ecotone currently operates 9 production facilities across the world. 

In May 2022, Ecotone announced that it will be investing 20 million euros in its plant-based beverage production site in Italy.
