Foodex Belgium

Established in 1992, Foodex Belgium is an importer and distributor of Japanese food products. The firm is a subsidiary of Takara Shuzô International, a leading sake producer in Japan. It is headquartered in Zaventem, Belgium.   

It operates one shop.        

 In 2020, its turnover amounted to more than €12 million and it employs up to 40 workers.

It operates in various countries across Europe as in the Netherlands, France, Spain, Poland, Portugal and Germany.  

The company delivers products to hotels, catering, wholesalers, grocery stores, etc. 

It offers a variety of products under different categories such as:  

• Sweet grocery: chocolate, sweets, cookies, etc.       
• Savory grocery: rice, bread, noodles, etc.
• Fresh and chilled: sushi, salad, seaweed, etc.
• Frozen: shrimp, fish, crabs, etc.
• Dairy: yogurt, milk, cheese, etc.
• Drinks: tea, coffee, water, etc.
• Wine and spirits: sake, wine, beer, etc.

Foodex Belgium’s brand suppliers are: Yamasa, Shoda, Azuma, Eaglobe and many more. In addition, it distributes sake to the Wakaze sake house situated in Ile-de-France.

It endorses brands such as Hanabi and Shinjumai, Kirin Ichiban, Umami Enhancer, etc.

The business also provides special products such as Shochu Japan which is known as “Japanese Vodka” made from barley and sugar as a result of a multiple distillation process.

Concerning logistics, Foodex Belgium operates with a 2000 m2 storage warehouse. It also provides the guarantee of preserving products by using its own fleet of refrigerated trucks or by liaising with its transport partners.
