Gate Gourmet Spain

Gate Group, an airline catering company from Switzerland runs a division in Spain since 1985. Gate Group Spain has been in operation for 35 years, producing around 18 000 meals per day and counts around 12 international airline companies as its clients. 

Gate Group Spain employs 1225 people and its turnover is around €98.2 million. 

In 2019, Gate Group Spain moved its facility to Coslada which is 8 minutes away from Adolfo Suarez Madrid Barajas Airport. The new facility is also easily accessible as it is close to the motorway network. 

Gate Group Spain’s new facility has a floor area of 9600 m2 and has all the latest amenities. There is also a modern meal assembly area as well as a culinary experience centre where the company’s chefs can devise new dishes. 

Concerning its warehousing facilities, Gate Group Spain now has 2500 pallets for the storage of dry products and 260 pallets dedicated to frozen goods. The new facility also has 16 door docks for trucks, hence facilitating access. 

The new facility was designed based upon the LEED principle and bears several eco-friendly features. For instance, the new facility is equipped with solar panels to provide hot water and the dishwashers have a heat recovery feature and sensors to control the use of water.
