Groupe Savencia

Founded in 1956 by Jean-Noel Bongrain, Groupe Savencia is a manufacturer and distributor of food products in 120 countries. Its headquarters is based in Viroflay, France. 

Groupe Savencia has 2 business segments namely:

• Savencia Fromage & Dairy: The 5th largest cheese group and a major player in milk processing, cheese and dairy specialties. 
• Savencia Gourmet: An international player in chocolate and premium brands for sweet gastronomy. It also distributes charcuteries and seafood.  

Concerning its distribution channels, the business distributes its products to retailers, catering industries, wholesalers, pharmaceutical industries and many more. 

Groupe Savencia achieves €6.2 billion in terms of turnover and employs 25,200 people. 

It is noteworthy that the firm received the “Great Place To Work” certificate in 2022. 

Moreover, the enterprise offers a variety of products in the following categories: 

• Sweet grocery: chocolates only. 
• Chilled & fresh: charcuteries, cheeses, seafood, etc. 
• Dairy: milk, butter, cream cheeses, etc. 

The group has its own brands such as (non-exhaustive list):

• Epoisses Berthaut: A line of cheeses. 
• Lucina: A line of cream cheeses. 
• Coraya: A brand dedicated to seafood products. 
• Villars: A line dedicated to chocolates. 

Pertaining to its logistics solutions, the company operates production sites and has a fleet of trucks to ensure deliveries. 

In 2021, Groupe Savencia and Lidl France signed an agreement to allow the revaluation of the basic price of milk between €359 and €368/1000L depending on the region. 

With regards to sustainability, Groupe Savencia reduces its carbon footprint by using eggs and egg products from non-cage farming.
