Jean Coutu Group is a chain of drugstores based in Canada founded in 1969 by Jean Coutu and Louis Michaud. Jean Coutu Group operates its own stores and also is a franchisor. The company has also expanded in the US. The company was acquired by Metro Inc in 2018.

The drugstore chain is the 3rd leading retailer and distributor in pharmaceuticals in North America. 

Jean Coutu Group acquired several companies such as Clautier Pharmacy, Douglas Drugstores and Rite Aid Drugstores. 

At present, Jean Coutu Group operates over 2200 stores under the following banners:

• Jean Coutu
• PJC Clinique
• PJC Sante

Each year, Jean Coutu Group makes an turnover of € 686.7 million. There are 2000 people working for the business, including 1350 in Canada. The company has been recognised as one of Canada’s Most Respectable Corporations. 

In regards to the logistics, Jean Coutu Group operates 2 distribution centres. 

Recently Jean Coutu Group has donated € 41574 to Brunswick United Ways to help the organisation in its efforts to help local communities during the Covid 19 pandemic.
