Founded in 1944 by Carlos Gonzalez Nova and Antonino Gonzalez Abascal, La Comer is a holding company which operates hypermarkets under the banners La Comer, City Market, Fresko and Sumesa. Its headquarters is based in Mexico. La Comer is a subsidiary of the Mexican company, Soriana.
Presently, the business operates 78 retail outlets and a restaurant as well. Furthermore, the company also manages an e-commerce platform.
In the financial year 2021, La Comer achieved a turnover of € 1.42 billion and employs more than 14,000 people.
The company offers a variety of goods in the following categories:
