Ledo d.d. is the largest Croatian producer of industrial ice cream and frozen food, headquartered in Zagreb, Croatia. Founded in 1958 initially as part of the Zagreb dairy, Ledo has developed into a leading brand recognized for its wide range of frozen products including ice cream, frozen fruits and vegetables, frozen fish, pastries, ready meals, and various types of meat.

The iconic product lineup includes famous ice cream varieties such as Snjeguljica (Snow White), a vanilla ice cream with a crunchy cocoa topping introduced in 1958, as well as other well-known flavors like Bubi, Silk Milk, King, Macho, and Kontiki. Beyond ice cream, Ledo produces diverse frozen foods such as fish, fruits, vegetables, pasta, puff pastry, and ready-to-eat meals like lasagna and risotto. The company has also become synonymous with the distinctive Ledo Medo teddy bear mascot that has adorned its packaging since 1964.

Ledo operates an extensive network with over 500 state-of-the-art refrigerated units and more than 100,000 refrigeration devices distributed across attractive sales locations throughout the region, allowing broad consumer access to its products. Its distribution reaches well beyond Croatia, with a substantial presence in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Albania, Montenegro, and Hungary.

The company employs approximately 1,100 people in Croatia and focuses on combining tradition with modern technologies to maintain high production quality and environmental responsibility. Key projects from 2022 to 2025 include energy renovations, refrigeration technology upgrades, and automation investments across Croatian, Slovenian, and Hungarian operations.

Financially, Ledo was previously majority-owned by the Agrokor Group (later renamed Fortenova Group) and was sold to the UK-based Nomad Foods for approximately EUR 615 million in 2021, demonstrating its substantial market position. The turnover was estimated around EUR 200-500 million at the time of the sale.

Ledo continues to innovate while maintaining a comprehensive product portfolio and extensive distribution network focused on supermarkets, convenience stores, warehouses, and distribution centers throughout Croatia. Its strong brand legacy, quality offerings, and robust market presence make it a key player in the frozen food and ice cream industry in Southeastern Europe.
