Ledo Group
Ledo (legal entity LEDO plus d.o.o.) is Croatia's leading producer and distributor of industrial ice cream and frozen food, headquartered in Zagreb. Founded in 1958 as part of the Zagreb dairy, the company built a strong regional brand portfolio spanning ice cream (Snjeguljica, Bubi, King, Macho, Kontiki) and a wide frozen food range including fish, vegetables and fruit, pasta, ready meals, pastry and meat products.
Since 2021, Ledo has been part of Nomad Foods (NYSE: NOMD), Europe's largest frozen food company, which acquired Ledo (along with Frikom) from the Fortenova Group for approximately €615 million, integrating it alongside brands such as Birds Eye, Findus, iglo and Frikom. Ledo continues to operate under its own brand identity and distribution network across Southeastern Europe, with a strong presence in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Montenegro, Albania and Hungary.
Ledo's route-to-market relies on an extensive cold-chain infrastructure of more than 500 refrigerated sales units and over 100,000 refrigeration devices placed in retail and food-service outlets, supplying supermarkets, convenience stores, warehouses and distribution centers throughout the region. The company sources raw materials such as fish, meat, vegetables and fruit for its manufacturing operations and continues to invest in refrigeration technology, automation and energy-efficiency projects across its Croatian, Slovenian and Hungarian operations (2022-2025).
Ledo employs approximately 1,100 people in Croatia and remains one of the most recognized FMCG brands in the frozen food category in Southeastern Europe, combining a long-standing product heritage (including the iconic Ledo Medo mascot since 1964) with modern production and distribution capabilities under its current parent, Nomad Foods.
