L’Occitane launched in Mexico in 2001. The company is part of L’Occitane en Provence, a french beauty care manufacturer and retailer. In Mexico, L’Occitane sells its products in its stores as well as through its online shop.
The company has also partnered with luxury hotel groups like Four Seasons for which it provides products which are offered as amenities to hotel guests.
In addition to this, luxury hotels can also launch spas using the brand's name. These spas feature the firm’s products which are used in all treatments. The Villa María Cristina hotel is the first establishment to launch Spa by L’Occitane in Mexico. Hotels must meet a specific criteria in order to be able to open a Spa by L’Occitane. One of the requirements is to have at least 8 massage cabins.
The Mexican market represents 2% of the sales made by L’Occitane Group. The company manages 36 boutiques in the country and aims to open 9 more shops by 2021. Furthermore, L’Occitane also manages 64 outlets in different luxury departmental stores across Mexico.
