Founded in 2001, Maxima Estonia is a retail chain headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia. The company is a subsidiary of the Lithuanian retail group, Maxima Group.
Today the business operates 83 stores across the country, of which 58 are Maxima X convenience stores, 22 Maxima XX supermarkets and 3 Maxima XXX hypermarkets. It also offers an online shop.
In the financial year 2020, Maxima Estonia achieved a turnover of €503 million and currently employs 3,700 people.
In 2020, the retail chain was awarded the title of achievement in the retail sector.
It offers a variety of products under different categories such as:
- Sweet grocery: Jam, chocolate, biscuits, etc.
- Savory grocery: Bread, macaroni, cooking oil, etc.
- Fresh and chilled: Fruits, meat, vegetables, etc.

Maxima provides private label products under the brand ‘Maxima’: Tomato juice, granulated sugar, long grain rice, etc.
The retail chain also offers bio products such as: vegetable puree, wine, pear juice, etc.
When it comes to supporting the community, Maxima has helped more than 3.500 schoolchildren with opportunities to work in different stores and last but not least, it has hired at least 200 Ukrainian refugees which consists of mothers with children.
