Formerly known as Catair, Newrest was founded in 1996 in France. The foodservice and catering business is present in 58 countries. Newrest offers services in the following sectors:

Inflight Catering: for airlines, duty-free, buy-on board, etc.

Rail Catering: passenger services, on-board catering, hotel services, etc.

Remote Site Management: support local staff, design for kitchens and restaurants, etc.

Catering: for companies, education, defense, etc.

Concessions: for airports, museums, bus terminals where it runs restaurants and franchises like Paul.
Newrest has expanded across the world by acquiring companies like EM Food services and Paritim Yemek. Moreover it has partnered with other companies such as Rahal, Supply Oilfield Services and Servair.
Some of its clients are Total, Sumitomo, British Airways, Air China, Ferrovial, etc.
Newrest achieved a total turnover of € 1526 million in 2019. It generated a turnover of €633 million from inflight catering services, € 309.1 million from rail catering services, € 202.6 million from remote site management, € 66.7 million from concessions and € 315.3 million from other catering services.
Newrest now employs 34900 employees.
Concerning quality and hygiene standards, Newrest is certified ISO 9001 and perfectly masters the HACCP approach.
UPDATES ON NEWREST ON 06/08/2020
In June 2020, Newrest launched 4 restaurants under the latest banner, L’instant in France.
Earlier during 2020, the company partnered with the Filière Bovine d'Île-de-France in order to organise tasting events in 11 of its restaurants in Paris. The purpose was to introduce local meat products to customers. The business intends to offer 30% local products daily in its restaurants.
