Founded in 2006 by Mukesh Ambani, Reliance Retail is the fastest growing retailer in the world which has been ranked 53rd in the list of Top Global Retailers. Its headquarters is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The company is a subsidiary of the Indian multinational conglomerate company, Reliance Industries Limited.

It is noteworthy that the firm’s subsidiary Reliance Jewels bagged 2 most prestigious awards in the category of “Jewellery Retailer of the Year” and “Best New Product and Launch Campaign” for its “Rannkaar Collection” at the IRec Awards 2022.

Pertaining to its logistics solutions, the retailer operates 250 distribution centres across 23 states with 12 million square feet of warehousing space. Moreover, the firm has its own fleet of vehicles to ensure the smooth running of the supply chain.
Furthermore, in 2021, the retailer entered into an agreement with US-based 7-Eleven Inc to open convenience outlets in India in order to provide a superior shopping experience for its Indian customers.
As of 2022, the company has partnered with technology companies to build its omni-channel platform which includes its physical as well as online stores. Furthermore, according to The Economic Times, Reliance Retail is in discussion with London-based luxury department store Fortnum & Mason to launch the retail chain into India.
Additionally, in July 2022, the firm partnered with the luxury brand GAP to launch the chain in India.
In January 2023, Reliance Retail acquired a South Indian footwear Retailer, V Retail Pvt Ltd which had a market share of 22% in 2022.
