Rungis Express

Rungis express, founded in 1978 by Karl-Heinz Wolf, is an importer based in Germany. The company provides more than 3,000 products from over 80 countries. Rungis Express operates as a wholesaler and supplier of frozen food products. 

In April 2016, Rungis Express was acquired by the Metro Group. 

Furthermore, the company operates its food service business in 6 countries, and also manages several logistics activities. The latter is one of the largest trading firms for exclusive products representing well-known brands for over 30 years in the high standard gastronomy sector.

Rungis Express operates its subsidiary, Fideco, in Switzerland. In Austria, the sales under the umbrella brand, Rungis Express, are controlled by MCCAP Holding. 

Moreover, the firm also has its subsidiary, Petit Rungis, through which it entered the consumer market in 2021.

With around 200 employees, Rungis Express achieves an annual turnover of around € 71.65 million.

Rungis Express owns its logistics company, CCG DE, which ensures the quick arrival of its goods. The modern logistics are tailored to the transport of food. Rungis Express delivers over 20 tons of fresh produce from all over the world to around 1,000 top restaurateurs, delicatessens, hotels and restaurants on every night of delivery. The firm also owns its forwarding company that specialises in temperature-controlled transports for perishable goods. 

With regards to the environment, Rungis Express indulges in several measures such as keeping low  environmental impact, maintaining environmentally conscious delivery with three-chamber cooling system trucks, low-emission engines, selecting suppliers with responsible rearing and trapping methods, etc.
