Samarkand Global is a cross-border e-commerce business headquartered in London, UK. Specialised in the cosmetics market in China, the company helps foreign brands enter China through its platform, Nomad. Founded in 2016 by David Hampstead and Simon Smiley, Samarkand Global manages 20 e-commerce storefronts.

In addition to its London HQ, the cross-border company operates an office in Shanghai, China.

In 2021 it acquired 2 supplement companies, Zita West and Babawest, and the Scottish Herbalist Napier's of Edinburgh.

Total revenue exceeded £16m in FY22, and the company employs over 100 people.

Samarkand specialises in distribution beauty brands in the Chinese market. It is the exclusive partner of brands like 111Skin, Omorovicza, Revolution Beauty, Iconic London, Temple Spa, and more. They are also making entries into the luxury fragrance market with Sana Jardin, Ruth Mastenbroek, and Grace de Monaco. 

Samarkand's primary client base is in EU and UK, with an increasing number of clients from other major markets.
