Schreiber Foods International (SFI) is an importer, wholesaler and distributor of specialty products from over 35 countries which it offers under its own brand, Ambrosia. SFI offers over 300 references.

The company was established in 1980 in the US where it supplies food service businesses, distributors, manufacturers, etc. 

SFI achieved a turnover of € 42 million in 2019.

SFI provides products in the following categories:

• Savory Grocery: rice, quinoa, canned food, etc.
• Sweet Grocery: biscuits, sweet canned foods and other products
• Drinks: fruit juices
• Chilled & Fresh Food: vegetables, fruits, seafood

SFI offers products under its own label, Ambrosia.

SFI has a buying team which sources products from several countries including Italy, Israel, China, Thailand, etc. The buying team ensures that the products remain of high quality and keep up-to-date with the current market trends and supply changes. 

Suppliers working with SFI have to adhere to a supplier guideline which contains all the requirements of the firm. The company ensures that all its suppliers conform to the guideline and quality control tests are regularly carried out. Moreover, an independent FDA certified laboratory carries out the necessary tests. 

SFI conforms to the FSMA. 

Concerning the logistics, SFI operates 8 distribution centres in the US and its main facility is based in New Jersey. 

SFI has been supporting local communities by working with charities and food banks. Along with food donations, SFI has also been offering financial help.
