Servair France
Servair is a French airline catering business which was founded in 1971 and started operating in 1973 by catering onboard trains in France. Launched by Air France, the company became under the control of Gate Group in 2017 when the latter became the majority shareholder.
The services are segmented into three divisions:
- In-flight services
- Airport services
- Complementary services

Servair manages 36 catering units which supply more than 100 airlines in 19 countries. The company employs 10500 people and registered a turnover of € 900 million in 2018.
In 1974, Servair started to cater for airline companies. In 1988, the company partnered with Flying Food Catering, entering the US market.
In 1989, the company started operating its first establishment on the African continent in Gabon.
In 1990, Servair signed an agreement with Nippon Airways, a Japanese airline company. Servair became the caterer for the airline company, offering Japanese meals to the airline company from its facility in Roissy Charles De Gaule, France. .
During that same year, Servair entered the Duty free sector by launching a Duty Free shop in Dakar.
In 1995, Servair set up its first Asian unit in Macau.
By 2003, Servair launched its training centre, Servair Formation which is responsible for the training of its employees.
Servair started a new service, Buy on Board. Passengers can purchase sandwiches, snacks and drinks during a flight.
In 2009, Servair started operating Studio Culinaire Servair which gathers various Michelin-starred chefs who revolutionize meals in airline catering.
In 2014, Servair partnered with Burger King with the aim of developing the brand in Kenya and West Africa.
Servair is known for its focus on the African Airline Catering market. In fact, in 2018, the company launched a 2600m2 unit at Accra Airport which caters for 7 airlines, providing 2500 meals per day. 115 people work in this facility.
Over the years, Servair felt the need to develop its own brand namely Air lounge café, at the same time partnering with several international brands.
In terms of food supplies, Air lounge café uses the logistic support of Servair. Presently, Air lounge café has approximately 41 locations around the world.
Recently Servair inaugurated Air lounge café in Reunion island, comprising of 1400 square meters as well as an Air lounge café & Burger king in Martinique island.
Servair has obtained the ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 certificates. The company operates its own laboratory which analyses the microbiological quality of food items since 1976. Around 220000 analyses are carried out in order to ensure that all norms are respected.
