Spar Portugal is a supermarket chain founded in 2006 by Adriaan Van Well. Its headquarters is based in Porto, Portugal. The company is a sales division of the Netherlands-based Spar. 

Currently, the business operates 140 stores across the country and an e-commerce platform as well.  

In the financial year 2020 Spar Portugal achieved a turnover of  €112.5 million and currently employs over 300 people. 

Moreover, the enterprise offers a wide assortment of products in the following categories: 

• Drinks: juice, soft drinks, water, etc. 
• Wine & spirits: beers, wines, rums, etc. 
• Personal care: shampoo, deodorants, body lotions, etc. 
• Household: detergents, toilet papers, dishwashing liquids, etc.

Brands such as Doritos, Adonis, Super Bock, Luso, Colgate, Evax, Gillette, Dr Oetker, Iglo, Campofrio and many others are endorsed by the firm. 

The firm developed its own brand “Spar” which encompasses almost all product categories. 

Spar Portugal supports sustainability with its Spar Eco range which aims to reduce the negative impacts of production and waste on the environment.
