Szega Foods is a Hungarian food importer, wholesaler and distributor headquartered in Diósd, near Budapest, with a history dating back to 1994. Built originally around premium cheese distribution, the group today operates through several coordinated divisions — Trade (wholesale/distribution), Retail, Production and Export — supplying the Hungarian grocery market and food-service channel with dairy, chilled, frozen and ambient grocery products.

As a major distributor, Szega supplies more than 200 retail and trading chains in Hungary, including major banners such as Tesco, Spar, Metro, Coop, Auchan, CBA and Real. Its purchasing scope covers premium and artisanal cheeses, dairy products (yogurts, butter, cheese), frozen and chilled foods, bakery items, confectionery and ambient grocery items, sourced from producers across roughly 15-25 European Union countries. The company represents more than 150 international producers on the Hungarian market and has also developed private-label lines, including the Vegart brand of plant-based dairy alternatives.

Beyond wholesale, Szega operates a small retail footprint of two gourmet supermarkets in Budapest (including a flagship store in the Budagyöngye Shopping Center) focused on imported cheese, charcuterie, fresh bakery and prepared foods, complemented by a mini bistro concept. A dedicated logistics and distribution centre in Diósd (built in 2004) supports nationwide delivery via the company's own refrigerated fleet, meeting HACCP, BRC, AQAP and IFS standards.

On the sourcing side, Szega Foods purchases finished dairy and grocery products, raw materials, packaging and production equipment from European manufacturers, acting as their exclusive distributor for the Hungarian market and, through export subsidiaries, for Croatia, Romania and neighbouring countries. Its core operating entity in Hungary is registered as a limited liability company (Kft.) specialised in wholesale of dairy products, eggs and fats.
