Traditional World Foods
TWF (Traditional World Foods), an importer, exporter and distributor of specialty foods, was established in 1986 in France by Alain Moron. The company began by becoming the exclusive French distributor for the Japanese brand Go-Tan.
Gradually, TWF started to introduce more products to its portfolio.
Nowadays, TWF distributes to retail chains, cash & carry, food service, industry, etc. in France as well as in Western countries. Some of its clients include NISSIN and Auchan.
TWF also provides marketing and sales services and can design products for its clients’ private labels.
Moreover, when it works with any brand, it ensures that it is able to understand the brand’s message, image and culture and transmit these through its promotion strategies within the markets it distributes to.
TWF operates the following 3 subsidiaries:
- EPIDIS: the company handles the retail clients of the company
- FRAIDIS: FRAIDIS works with businesses operating in the HoReCa sector
- NORPASS: the business works with the industrial clients of the company
Moreover, TWF has partnered with the Sri Lankan company Dilmah Tea and has launched the Dilmah School of Tea in collaboration with Institute Paul Bocuse.
TWF reached a turnover of € 25.5 million in 2020. The importer won different prizes including 2 LSA Innovation Awards.
At present, TWF offers a wide variety of products in different categories:
- Savory Grocery: sauces, seasoning, snacks, vinegar, rice, etc.
- Sweet Grocery: tea, infusions, confectionery
- Drinks
- Chilled & Fresh Food: salads, ready-meals, pastries
- Frozen Food: ready-meals, snacking, pastries.
Some of the brands available include Real Thai, Mi.tsu.ba, Dilmah, Mission, etc.
TWF has been helping its clients to launch their own labels such as the the Soba cup range for NISSIN and salty macaroons for Auchan.
TWF imports its products from Thailand, China, Japan, Sri Lanka, etc. it ensures that the products it offers are manufactured in ethical ways and that they are sustainable. The company collaborates with suppliers that keep innovating.
To ensure that all products meet the European standards, TWF’s Quality Assurance & R&D department carries out the necessary tests.
