Van Oers Groep Netherlands

Van Oers is a wholesaler that distributes a range of frozen snacks to various businesses in the HoReCa sector. Van Oers Groep started operating in 1958 in the Netherlands. The family business started by offering canned vegetables, cheese and fish. 

Van Oers distributes to petrol stations, cafes, canteers, leisure parks, etc. The company also supplies to event catering businesses. 

In 1963, Van Oers began to offer frozen snacks and as the market evolved, the company focussed on high quality snacks and with time introduced chilled salads and frozen salads to its portfolio. 

In 2015, Van Oers took over De Vries, a Belgian business also operating in the frozen snacks market. The 2 companies formed United Food Family but each business focussed on its own market; Van Oers served the Dutch market while De Vries distributed to Belgium. 

In 2016 Van Oers decided to focus solely on frozen snacks, selling its salad and wholesale businesses.

At present, Van Oers offers products in the frozen food category that includes an extensive range of snacks such as meatballs, croquettes, minced meat bars, mini snacks, etc.

Van Oers offers halal and vegetarian products as well.

Furthermore , the company offers products under its own brands which include:

• De Vries: frozen snacks for the Belgian market

• Va Oers: frozen snacks for the Dutch market

• Mexicano: a range of spicy snacks. 

Since 2017, Van Oers has started to collaborate with Unilever Food Solutions in order to develop the brand Ballen which consists of meatballs served with gravy, a typical Dutch snack.
