Vins I Licors Grau

Vins I Licors Grau is an importer based in Spain since 1977 and is mainly known for its wide range of wines and other alcoholic beverages. 

Vins I Licors Grau was founded by Jordi Grau who was already familiar with the wine sector as his father, Miquel Grau launched a winery and tavern in 1951. Prior to launching his own shop, Jordi Grau was a music student  and in order to finance his studies in 1969, he started buying and reselling wine in Palafrugell.

The company operates its own wine shop known as the Vinotheque which is considered to be one of the largest wine shops in the European continent. The Vinotheque features an extensive collection of wines stored in a temperature and humidity controlled area. The shop also features a bar, a recreation area for children, a relaxation area for elderly people, as well as a room where wine tasting courses are organised. 

Vins I Licors Grau has also been operating an online shop since 2009, offering around 12000 references. 

In addition to this, Vins I Licors Grau is also a distributor to clients in the HoReCa sector such as hotels, restaurants, cafeterias, etc. 

In 1987, the firm launched a subsidiary, Distribuidora Gironina which is involved solely in providing distribution services.

In 2018, Vins I Licors Grau reached a turnover of € 45.7 million and employs over 50 people.

Vins I Licors Grau won the Lledoner D’Or award in 2018 and the Best Commercial Initiative in 2017.

Since the launch, Vins I Licors Grau has grown rapidly, offering a wide selection of products in the following categories:

• Drinks: wine, cider, sangria, liquor, etc.
• Savory Grocery: vinegar, oil, etc.

Some of the brands available are: Almansa, Valdepenas, Dominio Valdepusa, 08, Mlon, 42 Below, etc.

The business imports from countries like France, Germany, Chile, Morocco, Austria, Malta, etc. 

Concerning the logistics, Vins I Licors Grau manages a temperature-controlled warehouse of 1200 m2. The firm also handles the distribution and operates a fleet of 21 vehicles.

Vins I Licors Grau won the Best Specialized Wine Shop in the Retail Awards category during the International Wine Challenge Merchant Awards Spain 2019.

Vins I Licors Grau also launched Flor d'Emporda through a collaboration with Bodega Vinyes d´Olivardots.
