Vinzenzmurr
Vinzenzmurr is a chain of butcher shops which was founded by Vinzenz Murr and Rosa Murr in 1902 in Bavaria, Germany. The company operates 20 butcher shops in the country. In 1977, the company entered the wholesale distribution market in Germany. Vinzenzmurr offers a wide variety of Bavarian specialty products.
In addition to this, Vinzenzmurr operates its own training centre, providing courses for trainees, specialist salespersons, branch managers, district and sales managers.
Vinzenzmurr employs 1900 people and its turnover is around € 199 million.
The enterprise has achieved various awards for its quality of products. In 2018, it achieved the golden award for its white sausage and it is interesting to know that it achieved the golden award 7th time in a row. Furthermore, in France, the white sausages were given the honorary prize. Also the Minister of State Helmut Brunner and Minister of Home Affairs Konrad Ammon awarded the state honor prize to the company in 2017.
Vinzenzmurr offers products in the following categories:
- Dairy: a selection of cheese
- Chilled & Fresh Food: charcuterie, pork, beef, salads, ready-meals, etc.
- Frozen Food: a range of frozen products like meat
Vinzenzmurr also developed its own label, Hofgut Schwaige, a range of bavarian meat, steaks, minced meat, etc.
Vinzenzmurr sources its products from 80 farmers in the Bavarian region. These farmers are usually located close to the stores. Vinzenzmurr is highly selective and the suppliers must sign and respect an agreement with Vinzenzmurr which clearly stipulates conditions concerning rearing, feeding and animal welfare.
Vinzenzmurr is HACCP certified. Furthermore there is a quality assurance department ensuring that the business adheres to health and safety regulations. It must be noted that all employees, irrespective of their job title, follow a training course on quality and hygiene safety. Products from the shops are also sent to the laboratory for quality testing. Vinzenzmurr is audited by BAV-Institut.
