Walmart Global Sourcing Division

Walmart Global Sourcing Division was introduced by Walmart for a specific purpose; to handle all the sourcing, general merchandise and food items, for the different Walmart divisions across the US and international markets in Bangladesh, Dubai, India, Indonesia, Korea, Pakistan, Shanghai, etc.

The aim behind this centralized division is to facilitate sourcing globally and improve the whole process. Moreover, all supply chain transactions are more automated.

The core of the business is to increase direct sourcing for the company’s private brands which brings in more than €85 billion in purchasing annually.

Walmart Global Sourcing Division has more than 10,000 employees handling the day to day operations. 

Walmart Global Sourcing Division partnered with Li & Fung, a multinational group of companies that specialises on export sourcing, distribution and retailing. The latter is expected to launch a company, which will act as a buying agent, that has a build capacity of €1.7 billion in the first year.
