Alginate mask

The alginates are used to prepare face and body occlusive masks, fitting perfectly the skin and leaving an elastic and compact skin. The mask is a particular topic treatment in which all the components are applied onto the skin, leave for a specific time and removed for cleaning or plugging. The slow passage of the alginate from slurry form to its final solid form implies a lifting effect, most visible in a cycle of treatments. The perfect occlusive effect of the mask onto the skin reduces the TEWL (Trans Epidermal Water Loss, migration of the skin’s water towards the external part) prevent the interaction of the skin with the outside, and then to breathe: for this reason, the skin draws oxygen from the inner layers through the bloodstream, stimulating the micro circulation (skin reactivation). The effect of an alginate mask is moisturizing, emollient and smoothening. In addition, the increased trophism involves a micro sweating between the mask and the skin that, associated to the reduction of TEWL, promotes the penetration by osmosis of active ingredients, either present in the mask or previously applied to the skin. Moisturising alginate mask is formulated without diatomaceous earth: this means that the product is completely free of crystalline silica, whose breathable fraction is dangerous by inhalation.
