Apricots

A fruit with a smooth skin that can have anything from a golden yellow to dark purple colour with soft flesh. It is believed that the apricot was introduced to Italy from Armenia, from where it took its name, even though it actually has Chinese origins. he Mazzoni Group concentrates its activities cultivation of apricots especially in hilly areas of Romagna. 80% of the production takes place in this area and the predominant species are: Carmen Top, Pink Cot, Bella di Imola, Laicot, Sungiant, Sabbatani. The remaining 20% of the production is concentrated in Calabria and Campania with the variety Arcades and Cafona. The business of the Group Mazzoni , with respect to this reference, is aimed at a niche market segment inside. The varieties are treated "old" and therefore to preserve their organoleptic qualities particular attention is paid to the process of fruit ripening on the plant that does not allow for a long shelf life
