Crisp, dry, balanced 

A German style beer known as the ‘Labourers Pilsner’, Boyne’s Dortmunder Export lager is a perfectly balanced beer in which neither malt nor hops dominate.

The Dortmunder style is well suited to our hard water in Drogheda. It has a deep blonde colour, with strong malt character, good hop bitterness and aroma, full-mouth feel and crisp finish.

The best European Pilsner malt provides a  more complex malt profile, while traditional Saaz hops give us the distinctive hop character of the style.

The balanced nature of this beer means it’s quite sessionable to drink but technically difficult to brew to a consistently perfect balance.
