Château Capitoul - Grand Terroir Red
Château Capitoul with its precious stone and pebble strewn Mediterranean vineyard, is like a diamond in the rough set in the rolling hills of La Clape. With 62 ha of vineyards at the end of the massif of La Clape its terroir is the most maritime of the appellation. Its vineyard goes back to the 14 th century, when it was exploited by the Cathedral of Narbonne, which gave its name to the Château. In 2015 the appellation La Clape was accredited “Grands Vins du Languedoc”, thus joining other prestigious, internationally renowned French appellations. Ideally located in the middle of the Languedoc’s largest natural site, Château Capitoul vineyard is conducted according to integrated viticulture. Blessed by OROS, the gods of the mountains, Château Capitoul shows incredibly diverse site expressiveness. Situated along the shoreline of Bages ponds and the lower southern vineyard slopes is Cayenne a vineyard block strewn with peebles and lined with rosemary and thyme. The blend is for the most part Syrah, with Grenache Noir and Carignan, picked by hand and hand sorted both before and after destemming.
