In 1923, American doctors used cranberries in universities. It was observed that the acidity of the fruit acted on the bacteria contained in urine.
In 1984, A.E. Sobota a scientist from the university of Youngstown State, published an article in the medical paper “The Urology Journal”.
It stated that the e-coli-bacteria (responsible for 80% of all urinary infections) adhered less easily to the cells contained in the kidneys and the bladder as a due to cranberries. Those results were confirmed in 1991 by Israelite scientists.
