In contrast, most instant noodles are deep-fried at high temperatures to extend shelf life and are made with refined and bleached wheat flour, salt, artificial colors, seasonings, preservatives, and Monosodium Glutamate (MSG). High sodium intake can contribute to high blood pressure and heart disease, while excess carbohydrates are converted into glucose and stored as fat.
