The Echo Falls winemaking team hails from sunny California and after 100 years of producing top quality tipples, it’s not surprising that Joe Alioto and team have got the art of selecting the best fruit and vineyards down to a tee.

They appreciate a good glass of wine better than anyone and pour a drop of California sun into every bottle, whether it’s a rich red, crisp white or ravishing rosé. The 2015 harvest year was light in rain with warm summer days and cool evenings. The wine grapes came in at the right ripeness and flavour profile that we look for in the grapes.

Colour
This luscious California Merlot has deep purple and red hues. Clear, no sediment.
Bouquet
Medium plus intensity of dark plums, sweet blackberry jam, spice, and delicious oak notes.
Palate
Medium Palate depth with dark crunchy fruit. Firm tannin soften with the sweetness of the fruit which makes this wine very well balanced.
Food Pairing
The Merlot Pairs well with hardy beef dishes as well as rack of lamb.
