Gelling powder for making jam/marmalade at home.
The product works as a thickener/stabilizer to create the right consistency and texture when making jam, marmalade, or jelly at home. The powder is added to a boiling mixture of sugar and berries or fruit. When the mixture cools down it sets and thickens.
Typical thickeners used are carrageenan and pectin. Which type depends on desired final product. Normally a single bag/sachet containing 20-30 g powder is enough to make around 1 kg of finished jam.
