Juan Carrau Tannat de Reserva 2020
Starting in 1979 with a new style, Juan Carrau Tannat de Reserva was the first special reserve Tannat in Uruguay. The typical red of Uruguay was vinified with very mature fruit, which results in soft and elegant tannins for a full body wine.
Crushed and macerated for 2 days at low temperature before fermentation. Fermented in stainless steel at 22Β°C with traditional pump-over. These conditions result in more aromatic complexity. After fermentation the wine is aged in French and American oak barrels for 12 months. It is bottled with minimal handling and kept for 6 months in our cellar.
Red ruby color with deep intensity and red fruits aromas, well balanced with oak notes such as vanilla and tobacco. Plums and quince jam are evident on the nose.
Roundness and smooth tannins contributes for an excellent wine. Ideal to serve with red meat, aged cheeses and grilled foods. It could age well for many years in good
cellar conditions. Serve at 18ΒΊC degrees.
