K1 by Geoff Hardy Autumn Harvest 2018
Story: The Riesling grapes for this Autumn Harvest were handpicked 11 weeks later than we normally would for a dry white wine. The additional hanging time accompanied by a natural botrytis infection have provided this wine with luscious sweetness and lingering intensity.
Vintage: The 2018 growing season started slowly, but warmer weather eventually helped to speed things up. Fruit set throughout the region was good and the low rainfall and warm weather from January to April resulted in great sugar development, while a cooler than average March offered ideal night temperatures for colour and flavour development.
Nose: The nose offers beautifully attractive aromas of ripe nectarines and white peaches.
Palate: The palate delivers a fabulous mouthful of rich, sweet peachy flavours with crisp acidity on the finish.
Pairing: Try this wine with a pomegranate Eton Mess.
Cellaring: Drink now to 2028
