K1 by Geoff Hardy Pinot Noir 2019
Story: 5 clones of Pinot Noir are grown on the K1 vineyard, these are processed separately then stored in oak. As the season affects each clone differently, keeping them separte allows only the best barrels to be selected for this wine.
Vintage: The 2018 growing season started slowly, but warmer weather eventually helped to speed things up. Fruit set throughout the region was good and the low rainfall and warm weather from January to April resulted in great sugar development, while a cooler than average March offered ideal night temperatures for colour and flavour development.
Nose: The K1 Pinot Noir exhibits attractive aromas of strawberries and cherries with a hint of spice.
Palate: The palate is bright with masses of red berries and elegant, fine-grained tannins, followed by a lingering finish.
Food Pairings: Try this wine with a wild duck dish or enjoy a glass or two with family and friends.
Cellaring: Drink now or to 2026
