KAMUT® khorasan wheat is an ancient cereal, it is believed to have been grown by the Egyptians over 5000 years ago; it looks like wheat, with the difference that its kernel are bigger, reason being why it is often called “giant wheat” . KAMUT® khorasan wheat is an ancient relative of Durum wheat and the plant belongs to the Triticum Turgidum Turanicum family; this cereal was rediscovered last century, around about 1940, but it only became widely spread in the 1970s thanks to an American farmer Bob Quinn, who we have to thank for the brand KAMUT®: this word means “wheat” in the ancient hieroglyphic dictionary.
