King's Granspeck
The original recipe of our Granspeck dates back to the early 20th century when King’s, one of the oldest prosciutto companies, started producing it in this way, in the Val Liona Valley, near the city of Vicenza, in the north of Italy.
This Speck "alto di fetta" (large slice Speck) comes form the careful selection of pork legs shaped to have the perfect balance between the lean and fat portion. The result is a special "double muscle" speck, thicker than usual in size, thus softer in texture and sweeter in taste.
After being seasoned with a selection of spices, this speck is gently smoked over real beechwood chips (it is not treated with liquid smoke), which conveys a sweet and refined flavour, and then aged over 6 months, twice as normal speck.
Available in 6kg average weight, but also in the MINI SPECK shape in 2,5-3 kg average weight
