036 Le Nude Arzica
THE ESSENCE
Smooth . Modern . Radiant
THE COLOUR
The embodiment of a magical sunrise over ancient Nubia, as the tawny ochres of age-old limestone temples are set ablaze by the glowing reddish tones of cinnamon and nutmeg.
A soft texture for a light, translucent finish.
THE PIGMENT
Weld – Reseda luteola – is a typically Mediterranean plant. It was used by medieval illuminators, who knew it by its Italian name, Arzica. From the 1st to the 10th centuries CE, from Egypt to Palestine, it was the main source of yellow-orange dye for silks, and for wool for large floral-print kilim carpets from eastern Anatolia.
This pigment is renowned for its incredible biological qualities.
