SPIRULINA ( Athrospira platensis) 

Spirulina is a  bioactive blue-green microalgae from the Cyanophyceae family. It has been isolated in China and Eastern Africa. It can survive high salt concentrations, bicarbonates and carbonates. The main components of spirulina are proteins, carbohydrates and lipids.  Furthermore, this alga is also a rich source of many other valuable compounds, such as minerals and vitamins. The most common minerals are potassium, calcium, magnesium, selenium, iron and zinc. Among the vitamins, B vitamins ( especially B12 ) , are the most abundant. It has a strong antioxidant, revitalizing, remineralizing, moisturizing and antiinflammatory actions  which successfully combats signs of ageing.
