Wine name and classification: Cortona Merlot.
Production Area: Cortona – Arezzo.
Yield per hectare: 90 quintals grapes equivalent to 63 hl. wine
(winery average 68 quintals grapes equivalent to 47.6 hl. wine).
Grape varieties : Merlot
Planting System: Guyot and spurred cord.
Plant density: 3,500/5,000 vines per hectare.
Terrain: medium hilly, with good skeletal content.
Vinification: manual harvesting, controlled temperature,
fermentation with subsequent maceration in stainless steel vats.
Aged for at least 12 months and then matured
in bottles for at least 3 months.
Coluor: deep ruby red with blackberry hues.
Bouquet: full, lasting and very persistent; a pleasing blend of red berry,
vanilla and licorice, with grassy notes that are typical of the grape.
Flavor: smooth, harmonious and intense, expressing in its complexity
vanilla combined with notes of jam and spices
Food pairing: great pairing to wild game and seasoned cheeses.
Serving temperature: recommended serving temperature is 16°-18° C.
