Original Thüringer Rostbratwurst - Original "Thuringian Bratwurst" from Kupfer
The art of sausage making has a long tradition in Thuringia. The Rostbratwurst has been made here for over 615 years and has lost none of its attractiveness to this day.
Only the best pork is used for medium-fine sausages, which can be offered raw or cooked. The sausage meat in the natural thin casing is well seasoned. In addition to salt and pepper, parsley and/or marjoram and/or garlic are mainly used. Thuringian sausages are free of preservatives and have a lower fat content than other types of sausage. An average fat content of 20% ensures enjoyment.
The Thuringian Rostbratwurst leaves nothing to be desired in terms of versatility. For quick enjoyment, the bratwurst is served as usual in a sliced bun with ketchup or mustard. In addition to the barbecue it can also be prepared in a pan with butter or cooking oil.
It is a quick and tasty dish that can be presented in new ways with different ingredients. Thuringian Rostbratwurst are specially protected by the European Community, which means that Thuringian Rostbratwurst may only be made according to traditional recipes in Thuringia.
