Red currants

Red currants are available all year round from Sun Berry International. The red currants are produced outdoors in spring. To guarantee the very best quality the plants are grown under cover to protect the plants and fruit from the adverse effects of extreme weather. The red currants are grown in greenhouses in summer. Flavour is one of our top priorities. So for that reason all our growers make a conscious choice to cultivate varieties that excel in flavour and have an excellent shelf life. Not just here in the Netherlands, but in other countries too. This is the only way to guarantee produce of outstandingly high quality. The main varieties available are Rovada, Junifer and Rolan.
