Roasted cooked ham with herbs Il Focolare
The typical sweetness of cooked ham is enhanced by a more intense and enveloping flavour.
“Il Focolare” (“The Fireplace”) is made from medium-sized pork thighs, flavoured with a “secret” brine that is injected directly in the thigh muscle during processing. The product is then enriched further with the addition of a balanced mix of spices and aromatic herbs. Finally, the ham is slowly roasted in the oven for at least 15 hours. This is where the magic happens and the ham acquires the characteristic browning that makes this ham highly distinctive. The result is a soft and delicate cooked ham with a distinctive flavour that fills the palate and satisfies the taste buds.
The Veroni deli-meat masters, according to the original recipe, add by hand a garnishing of ingredients including bay leaves, rosemary and fresh herbs. This process produces a product with an unmistakable aroma which is released during the cooking phase and makes the taste even more special and unique.
