Tunisian Deglet Nour

Date palms are said to grow with their feet in the water and their heads in the fire according to history and centuries experience. The saying means that date palms require both abundant water and lots of sunshine in order to thrive. 

Deglet nour is the most appreciated variety in the world, for its high quality and its unique sticky sweet taste. The name itself means “fruit of shining light” because of its translucent golden colour when it’s held up to the sun.

Additionally, it can be easily chopped and diced due to their nature, as well as they can be used in bakery foods such as bread, cakes and cookies, these natural dates are the preferable for baking because of their modest sweetness.
